Job Description:

Internal Sales Engineer – Scientific/Industrial Job Profile:

Your role will be to provide technical support at all stages of contract negotiation, from pre-sales to quotation and post-sales support. Extensive product, technical and sales training will be provided at the induction phase and will be followed up by continuous development, both in the UK and abroad.

The role is the starting point for a future career in the company. The opportunities within the company are great and progression to field sales, product management, and business development are likely for the successful candidates.

Your Qualifications:
You will have a degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or similar with degree level knowledge of laser physics, optics, spectroscopy, microscopy or other optical technology. Sales experience is an advantage but is not a necessity. You will be an outgoing and enthusiastic person who is comfortable meeting and talking to customers. You will have excellent communication and presentation skills, and be IT literate.

Salary:

Starting salary is dependent on skills and experience but the starting package for a new graduate is £22,000 basic with expected OTE £29,000 (including commission and discretionary company bonus) in the first year. After 6 months, the company will also contribute to a personal pension plan, and provide free private health insurance. Your future earnings are limited only by your ambition and your ability to meet mutually agreed performance targets.

The consultancy is seeking to appoint a Consultant or Senior Consultant with experience of waste facility development and permitting.

The consultancy is the leading UK consultancy in this field. You will be working with an established successful team preparing regulatory applications to support the development of major waste management facilities including treatment plants, EfW and landfills.

The work will include the preparation of Environmental Permits and planning applications and the technical reports that are needed to support these applications. Depending on your skills, experience and interests there will be opportunities to work on a wide range of related technical, scientific, and engineering subjects, including environmental impact studies, risk assessments, technical design, civils contract management, site investigations and contaminated land assessment.

The successful applicant would be expected to effectively liaise with their clients and the regulatory authorities. Excellent written and personal communication skills are essential together with a thorough and up to date understanding of the relevant regulatory regimes.

The work is multidisciplinary and we will consider candidates from a wide variety of technical backgrounds but particular preference will be given to candidates with experience in hydrogeology and related disciplines.

This role is based predominantly at the company’s various client’s sites throughout the UK. There are intermittent opportunities to work with overseas clients. Travel to client sites may require early starts, late finishes and regular overnight stays most weeks. Travel costs and payment for additional working hours will be in line with company policy.

This role reports to the Head of Manufacturing Service & Commissioning

Primary duties

  • Undertake system calibration, repairs and maintenance activities on client sites, addressing any concerns arising throughout the process.
  • Communicate and provide technical support to the client to address customer specific issues.
  • Provide technical support to Installation Technicians and Service Engineers to address in-house issues, deploying all forms of communication.
  • Compile all reports / documentation and dispatch in a timely manner as directed by the Head of Manufacturing & Commissioning.
  • Comply with the organisation’s QA and SHE systems, policies and procedures; support required updates as the business develops.

 Secondary duties

  • Attend all required company and department meetings.
  • Attend training courses relevant to the position.

You will be responsible for initiating, planning, executing, and closing activities for projects related to the company’s IOT based crash detection devices and partner mobile applications.

Responsibilities Including but not limited to:
• Defining and managing functional and non functional customer requirements and deliverables - including UX and aesthetic design
• Creating a delivery roadmap(s) to efficiently deliver new products and on-going improvements and enhancements for deployed solutions
• Delivery of overall system and each sub component, including embedded software, mechanical housing, electronic hardware - with internal and external partners - from prototype through to production
• Ensure adherence to aligned development, execution and testing processes for HW, SW, mechanical design and manufacturing by using the appropriate and relevant tools and methodologies from both agile and waterfall paradigms as required (ex. Agile/Scrum, DevOps, Jira, DFM, etc.)
