Description

Key Purpose of the Job:

  • Executing all measures to promote Van Sales
  • Using, establishing, and fostering good contacts with departments, which

support Sales

  • Welcoming, and providing customers with specialist advice on products
  • Holding Sales presentations and providing customers with information and

advice on Mercedes-Benz light commercial new and used vehicles, equipment,

and accessories

  • Concluding Sales contracts and making any required amendments
  • Carrying out follow-up contacts to customer and prospects; processing and

managing a customer files

  • Maintain and control dealership database as well as ensuring that Mercedes-

Benz UK campaigns are promoted throughout the display area

  • Attendance at ride and drive events
  • Promoting a positive attitude within the business at all times

Accountabilities:

  • Achieve / Exceed Individual Sales targets
  • Update and improve product knowledge
  • Maintain customer database, ensure customer/prospects call programme is

adhered to, achieve prospecting targets within given territory

  • Effective use of company IT systems
  • Promote at all times, the Mercedes-Benz culture of quality and excellence and

deliver the Mercedes-Benz experience

  • Site responsibility for the display area
  • Noting daily footfall numbers
  • Informing and advising visitors on Mercedes-Benz light commercial vehicles,

equipment, prices, conditions, technical data and other issues

  • Explaining differences between Mercedes-Benz light commercial vehicles and

competitors’ vehicles: highlighting usefulness and advantages

  • Evaluating used vans, along with the manager’s guidelines and arranging for

technical appraisals to be carried out

  • Organising and carrying out test drives and evaluating results
  • Compiling and sending out offers
  • Positioning information material (brochures, catalogues etc) and ensuring

availability

  • Involvement in design of exhibition space and product placement
  • Involvement in sales events
  • Guaranteeing professional level of product
  • Fostering contacts to key individuals, associations and groups in the region
  • Offering and selling accessories
  • Explaining financing and leasing opportunities and insurances
  • Concluding sales, negotiating terms (trade-ins, type and method of payment, method of vehicle transfer, etc), if necessary obtaining agreements and drawing up the sales contract
  • Offering and selling service packages
  • Clarifying, agreeing and organising handling of used vehicles
  • Recording the customer’s order, preparing cost calculation and passing them

on to the respective department

  • Checking confirmation of order and, if necessary passing it on to the

customer; recording, dealing with and passing on customer’s required

amendments (changes to vehicle type and fittings)

  • Agreeing on processing and registration procedures with customer
  • Reaching agreements with internal partners (ordering, Sales Management)

ands external contacts (financing and leasing partners etc.)

  • Supervising all processes up to delivery
  • Agreeing with customers when the vehicle is to be put at their disposal (date,

delivery, registration etc)

  • Handing over the vehicle and introducing the customer to the vehicle
  • Planning and carrying out regular contact with customers
  • Regularly recording customer satisfaction and initiating relevant measures

It should be recognised the importance of your working relationships with your colleagues, but in particular you should foster good working relationships with the following people:

  • Sales Department
  • Sales Administration
  • Marketing Department
  • Accounts Department
  • Cleaning and Preparation Department
  • Parts Department Service Department

Benefits:

  • £21,640 per annum + Commission
  • The successful candidate would participate in the Company’s Commission Scheme which is 10% of retained vehicle/accessory profit plus 10% of finance income, upon achievement of your quarterly target this will increase to 20% of both vehicle and finance profit.
  • You will qualify for 22 days annual paid leave plus statutory holidays.
  • Hours are 8.30 am to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday, Saturdays 8.30 am to 1.00 pm (In accordance with the Company’s rota as published from time to time, this may be subject to change)
  • One hour unpaid lunch break Company Pension
  • You will be entitled to a fully expensed company vehicle in line with your position in the Company.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme Available after probation period of 3 months
