The company is an exciting early-stage start-up , based in London and Sydney with a solid product-market fit, impressive growth rates and a user base spread across the US, Europe and Australia. Founded in 2018, it is used by thousands of cryptocurrency investors, accountants and is also the preferred tax partner for a number of leading cryptocurrency exchanges. They are building tools to enable the widespread adoption of cryptocurrency by automating the regulatory hurdles of tax compliance and asset tracking.
Your role
You will be responsible for the day to day delivery of engineering, managing tech leads/engineering managers, best practices, technology decisions and keeping everything running smoothly whilst pushing the boundaries of whatβs possible between science and tech and helping to define the product roadmap and strategy working as the CTO. With a can-do attitude, strong product mentality and exceptional communication skills you will feel just at home managing a team as well as keeping your toes in the door on a technical level.
Your responsibilities will include:
-Develop, manage and prepare the best software development team
-Guide, coach and mentor software development engineers and lead them by example
-Provide project management and technical leadership for every aspect of software
-Prepare lifecycle for different projects inclusive of research, development, design, evaluation, testing along with delivery to product management
-Supervise architecture plus lead efforts to develop the technical roadmap of the product you own
-Establish and stimulate software development standards and processes along with best practices for delivery of scalable and high quality software
-Develop deep and strong understanding the technologies, tools and techniques used within the team
-Be a part of a Recruitment Team, assist in skills and culture fit evaluation
-Build and promote a positive working environment for the team within your areas as well as other business areas you will engage with
-Effectively manage team members in line with company culture and values, providing effective, valuable feedback on a daily basis
You will be set up for success as CTO if you haveβ¦
-5+ years of managing engineering teams in a startup/scale-up environment
-Ideally experience building best in class Fintech/SaaS engineering teams
-Experienced with refining technical tests for the hiring process
-Strong people management skills
-Great listening and communication skills
-Agile development product mindset
-Working with Ruby/Rails would be huge advantage
-Good exposure to AWS, Microservices, Scaling
You must be technically hands on and enough deep understanding of technology such that you can challenge developers and help them be pragmatic in whatever they do
