Based at Ewelme, one of the depots that the company operates from across the south of England, you’ll collect commercial waste from businesses in and around the Oxfordshire area.
If you’re used to driving roll on roll offs, skips, front end loaders and waste wheelers (they own an extensive and varied fleet of vehicles) then all the better – although they always train the right people.
You’ll be happy with early-morning starts (5am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday, plus alternate Saturday mornings from 5am to 9.30am – 44.75 hours per week) and must have a valid LGV Class 2 licence,
Driver Qualification Card and a digital tachograph driver card.

Job Purpose
To drive and operate a variety of waste collection vehicles using safe and efficient driving techniques in line with company requirements. Assist in the provision of an effective and efficient waste collection and disposal service across various locations, observing health and safety requirements and being responsible for the safety of crew, self and members of the public. Ensuring the highest possible standard of service is consistently provided to all customers.
Key Duties
• Carry out thorough daily inspection checks as a legal requirement, complete defect and damage reports and other associated paperwork and follow the escalation process to workshops.
• Be fully compliant with the Transport WTD within tachograph legislation requirements.
• Ensure full compliance with Company Health & Safety procedures and regulations at all times.
• Follow appropriate reporting process where necessary in the event of incident and near-miss occurrences.
• Ensure uniform/PPE is worn at all times whilst on duty and is kept in a clean, tidy and serviceable manner in accordance with company and Health & Safety requirements.
• Be fully compliant with relevant Safe Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Risk Assessments.
• Provide a high level of customer service at all times to external and internal customers.
• Be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of vehicles.
• Carry out weekly wheel nut torque check.
• Effectively report contaminated bins and non-conforming waste in a timely manner to the Transport Office at the end of a shift, producing relevant paperwork duly completed with job tickets.
• Follow company processes and procedures regarding completion of documentation and paperwork.
• Report for work on time and ensure satisfactory completion of duty hours.
• Be flexible towards working hours and be available for occasional overtime to meet business and depot needs.
• Ensure full compliance with all Company Policies and Procedures including health and safety and employment.
Qualifications
• Hold a current LGV licence, Class ll or above
• Driver Qualification Card
• Airside pass (desirable – Airports only)
• ADR (desirable – Clinical only)
Experience/ Skills / Knowledge
• Experience of driving and operation of Rolonof, skips, FEL and Waste wheeler vehicles would be preferred, although training can be provided.
• Own a digital tachograph card.
• Knowledge and understanding of analogue and digital tachographs in line with company requirements and procedures.
• Demonstrate awareness of current driving and working time legislation.
• Good interpersonal skills demonstrating a positive and professional attitude.
• Be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
• Ability to interpret and understand maps and directions.
• Be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of current relevant Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Good team worker.
• Demonstrate a willingness and flexibility to undertake new tasks, additional hours and training where necessary. • Ideally hold a basic knowledge of waste legislation.
