This role provides strategic advisory services and guidance to clients, with resulting acceleration and enablement of key technology initiatives, that will strengthen the position of UKCloud as a Trusted Advisor and cloud services provider. Chief Architect Key Responsibilities: • Defining standards, policy, processes and best practice in collaboration with other architecture teams and design authorities and share/publicise this knowledge • Provide architectural direction to Engineering and Product Management teams • Develop technical aspects of a customer strategy to ensure alignment with its business goals and positioning of UKCloud & partner-based solutions where it is appropriate to do so • Relationship development at CxO level to advise and influence, establishing trusted partner status and bring intelligence inhouse to refine account/segment strategy • Use stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to the UKCloudX platform and our Growth Team’s account/segment strategy • Work within the Office of the CTO (OCTO) and Products Team to determine UKCloudX Platform strategy and roadmap whilst maintaining in-depth knowledge of business’s strategic business plans, product strategies and roadmaps • Provide guidance and assistance to members of the Platforms team were required to ensure appropriate levels of knowledge transfer • Working collaboratively with other technology architects to ensure that security is adopted and properly embedded in their respective technology domains • Research new vendors, technologies and solutions to validate capabilities and ensure appropriate levels of assurance Chief Architect Requirements: • TOGAF Certified Enterprise & Solution Architect • Experience working as a Chief Architect or CTO role in a medium to large enterprise • Awareness with cloud provider ecosystems, including Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure q Awareness of Containerisation and Function as a service • Experience with multivendor solutions across a broad portfolio of technologies and products • Working knowledge of interpreting & implementing HMG security policy. • Experience of producing strategy documents and security architecture design documents. • Excellent experience at stakeholder management and technology partnership • Proven senior leadership experience in leading change without direct control of teams • Proven experience of working directly with clients, including facilitating workshops, to design solutions that improve product stickiness or demonstrate innovation and value to clients • Proven experience of working in a multi-product or transformational environment • Proven experience in architecting solutions that replace and mothball legacy monolith applications • a solid understanding of securely handling sensitive data, including data valuation and interpretation of GDPR, DPA and other relevant legal instruments. • Proven experience of resolving conflicts between teams • Good communication skills, attention to detail and commercial awareness About UKCloud: UKCloud provides an unbeatable, secure UK public cloud.
