After a record-breaking year in 2020 and further growth anticipated due to an influx of new business wins, the agency is recruiting for an ambitious and talented PHP Developer. As a natural problem solver who is driven by the ability to build creative solutions to real business issues, this role is ideal for a candidate who is on the lookout for a chance to join a highly secure business which offers structured career progression. Supporting the Senior Developers and Team Leaders, with a vision to progress into a Senior role, the PHP Developer will have an excellent understanding of object-orientated PHP alongside MySQL and jQuery. Wider knowledge across the front end would be beneficial including HTML, CSS and JavaScript but is not essential. Built on the ideology that creative development and the resolution of technical issue is best served in a collaborative environment, you must be passionate about building relationships with wider business stakeholders. The vision for the working environment across the development team is to remain predominantly remote once the world returns to some form of normal. Currently the business works entirely remote. When possible, the development team will work on a remote basis with one or two days per month based out of one of their Northern offices (Manchester or Newcastle). Key Responsibilities of the PHP Developer: Developing new features across client projects and improving the eCommerce platform through greenfield functionality development Identification and suggestion of key areas of improvement for both legacy and new systems Continually stay up to date with the newest methodologies and technologies with the idea of introducing new concepts into projects Cross collaborate across design, marketing and operational teams to ensure all development work is completed in line with project requirements The Ideal Candidate: Commercial experience building solutions using PHP. Ideally knowledgeable across the full development stack including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and MySQL although this role is biased towards PHP development. Naturally driven to continue your own personal development, supporting fellow developers in their growth as you progress into a Senior role. Experience in an eCommerce environment would be beneficial but not essential. Knowledge of wider PHP frameworks would be a bonus but not necessary to be successful in the role as Vanilla PHP is ok.
